Judging or monitoring your Body Mass Index results ( BMI) is actually simple. This post is focusing on assisting you to interpret your body fat results. So this method of interpretation helps you figure out if you're :
Underweight
Normal Weight
Overweight
Obese
Below let us further look at each result from underweight to overweight and explain further so that we don't confuse ourselves.
Underweight BMI Results :
This interpretations of your BMI do not necessarily mean that you're unhealthy. But ofcourse it should raise some concerns if your results prove that you might be obese or underweight. So if your BMI results appear as being 18 or even less, you should really start considering gaining a couple of kilos as being underweight can be a threat to your health. Ofcourse we all want to be trimmed and slim but that does not mean we should be underweight.
Normal Weight BMI Results :
For people with the results showing BMI number between 18 and 25 are considered to be having an acceptable and normal BMI. Ofcourse like i always it's not a measure for your health but an estimate of your body fat rather, even though if you fall under this category you can focus more on keeping your body the way it is. So i guess for people in this category it's safe to say "WOOPIE", but remember to keep fit.
Overweight BMI Results :
When measuring your BMI and actually realising that it is over 25, then unfortunately you're considered to be overweight. Your Body Fat or Body Mass Index have to be at least 25 or less it can get very bad for people with a BMI of the above value. But what is mostly common is that people within this category often turn a blind eye to the possible health threats that they may be facing. We know that a BMI measure is not an accurate measure of one's health but i personally encourage people with this BMI value to do something to make sure they DON'T end up obese. So to be away from the risks of ending up not enjoying your life to the fullest due to heart disease, cancer or diabetes, i say take action and start losing some weight.
Obese BMI Results :
Well if it happens that you fall in this category i really believ that YOU need to take action, not tomorrow but NOW!. If your BMI is above 30, you're considered to be obese. Yeah we know that some people can live longer that 80 years in this category but then chances are slim and we can't ignore the dangers and. Let's face it you never wanna end up missing out on your children's lives, or ending up not reaching your goals just because you failed to do the simplest thing which working out and control your weight.
